Great

Great design - simple and, like another reviewer said, built like a tank. Took it right out of the box, chained it to my pickup, and pulled up a 1" briar tree with a 3' tap root. Looks like the body will last forever. The only concern I have is that the spring is a little lightweight, but it would be easy to replace. Glad I bought it.

Great functionality but made with cheap steel from China

I bought this unit to pull out some small diameter trees using my 25hp garden tractor. This thing works great....so great that I decided to use it to pull down some trees that were 5" in diameter at the base. It worked for this too by mounting the grubber up high on the tree and using the tree as a lever to pop the tree out of the ground. This unit is made out of steel that is 1/2" thick. Unfortunately, the Grubber is made in China of steel that is not as strong as steel made in the U.S. and one of the main links bent. The hitch on my garden tractor is probably half the thickness and it didn't bend (made in the good old USA). Despite its poor durability, it does function extremely well and you won't be disappointed with its function. If you plan on using this for pulling trees larger than 3", get the larger model. In my opinion, this thing costs too much for something that is as simple as it is and made in China. Had I known it was made in China, I wouldn't have bought it.
