First-rate Anvil Lopper
By Victor H. Agresti
WOLF Garten RS830 Professional Anvil Lopper 7276000This has to be one of the finest loppers available anywhere. It's made in Germany and the design and construction is superb. The handle frame is sturdy aluminum, the hardware is perfect, the grips are comfortable and permanently attached, and it's lightweight. Unlike the soft foam that Corona has on most of their lopper grips for example, these are contoured, rubberized, and should last a lifetime. The tool is guaranteed for 10 years, which is 9 years longer than most manufacturers offer. It's unlikely the warranty will be needed, since the tool is so well-built, but save your receipt just in case.I've found that anvil loppers make better limb cutters than bypass loppers, and this model only reinforces that experience. (Bypass loppers have a greater tendency than anvil loppers to twist wood between the blades, separating them.) The compound action in this tool makes cutting limbs up to 1 3/4" inches surprisingly easy. 2" is possible if it's soft-wood. We own a half-dozen other loppers and searched the Internet and several stores in our metropolitan area for something better. We could find none comparable to the Wolf Garten. The large carbon steel blade is replaceable, but if you avoid mashing rocks with it, it will have a long life. (See Wolf-Garten's web site for their e-mail address, street address, and phone number.)The only negative is the relatively high price. If you can get by that, this is the one to buy.

Best Lopper Ever
By K. Richard
Twenty years ago I purchased my first anvil lopper with the Scott label (possibly made by Wolf Garten.) After years of pruning with that terrific lopper, I was looking for another great lopper and I found the Wolf Garten Anvil Lopper. Wow, it is the bomb of all loppers!I just cut through a 3 inch diameter rhodie branch with not too much effort. It easily cuts just about every kind of wood that I have tried. What a wonderful addition to my tool collection. I also got the anvil pruners which are fabulous and the grass shears aren't so bad either as far as grass shears go. I do like the swivel blade design for easy maneuverability cutting different angles to the left or right.

World's Best
By Janet Metz
Over the years I have had many different brands of loppers. These are by far the best I have ever owned. Cutting through Palm tree fronds is like cutting through butter. They are strong, not any heavier than others, durable, extremely well made. I live on a farm with loads of trees and probably use loppers more in a day than most people do in a month.
