silky gomboy saw
By kalevra
i have been the happy owner of a silky gomboy japanese pull saw for years, and the tool never failed to deliver, no matter what i used in on: softwoods, hardwoods, timber bamboo, pruning jobs, crosscuts, rip cuts.. i have converted quite a few professional carpenters to the joys of the japanese saws. a blade that is pulled on the power stroke, versus the western blade that is pushed to cut, doesn't kink. thus, it can be made much thinner, and the resulting effort of cutting is much reduced. the tooth configurations is also special, with an added facet making the cutting very aggressive and smooth. this, in turn, also leads to greater control and accuracy.to sum up: this is a great tool: well-designed, reliable, sturdy, comfortable, and very slick.
