Great Saw
By Thomas J. Price
I do trail work in Shenandoah National Park, teach pruning techniques, and use this on my property. This is absolutely the best hand saw I have ever used. It makes short work of small trees and branches. In fact I have used it on trees up to 7 inches in diameter with no problem. There are many times I prefer it over my chain saw. I burn over a cord of firewood every year in my wood stove, and I cut 75% of the wood I use with this saw.

Professional Quality Saw
By R. Meier
Pros:Razor sharp and will effortlessly cut through large limbs.Ergonomic comfort grip handle saves on hand fatigue.Professional Arborist/Forestry quality.Perfect length for small and large limb trimming.Handy vine trimmer at front edge of blade.Replaceable blade.Cons:Saw-NONEScabbard-ONEThe scabbard is well made with the exception of the belt loop. Since it's made of an imitation leather product it likely won't hold up very long if the saw is used everyday by a professional arborist. I found that attaching this to a climbing saddle to be an effort when it should have been effortless. The saw is designed and marketed for the professional arborist and the belt loop certainly doesn't live up that that level of design and use.The scabbard does have a removable guard that can be changed when it becomes worn out from rubbing the saw blade edge against it. This is a nice feature, although I have yet to see one retailer who sells the replacement. All things considered this is an excellent product. Had the scabbard had a better attachment loop (like the Silky Sugoi 420) it would have rated 5 stars.

100% more productive in the tree than my chainsaw
By Bryan Campbell
I never understood the value of a good handsaw in the tree until I discovered Silky Products. Since I have had my SUGOI I only bring the chainsaw up into the tree for the really big limbs. For production work this saw will impress. The extra large teeth have an incredible cutting speed. The blade is designed to cut a channel wide enough so that it prevents binding further into the cut. This is great for sappy woods.Durability is excellent. In the past year Silky has even improved the scabbard in response to customer comments indicating that gets cut when the saw comes in an out. My blade has also maintained a sharp edge long past what I would have expected. If I had to pick something to harp on it would be that the straps that come with the scabbard are a not as durable as the rest of the saw.For those who see the length of the saw as a limiting factor there are several other models offered like the ZUBAT which is 8 inches shorter. As a final thought, statistics show that the chainsaw is the single most dangerous tool used in the Tree industry. When chainsaws are used IN the tree this risk goes way up. For those who lack experience and training in this area or who may only have one saw that is too heavy and not really suited for use up high, Silky Handsaws like the SUGOI go miles towards mitigating the high risk of chainsaw use.My SUGOI lives behind the seat of my truck and is my go-to tool of choice when I climb. I'm a better more productive Arborist since I discovered Silky products.
