High hopes but only decent.
By I. OBetz
I had high hopes for this sprayer after I read all of the reviews. It sprays good, adjusts well, fits comfortably on my back when full. It wasn't as compact as I had hoped, but I managed to get it stored. I like the spray handle and the pump handle. Here are the two drawbacks I had with it:1. The straps started unraveling at the top of the sprayer and slipped off a number of times while spraying. If you purchase this product, I highly recommend getting the top part of the straps adjusted where they need to go, then (sew, staple, pin, whatever) the straps so they don't unravel or slip out.2. I'm not sure if its our heat (120-130 degrees where its stored) but the actual sprayer extension (the 3' tube between the handle and sprayer) has warped or slowly bent over the course of a month. If I hold it straight out, it points 90 degrees to the left. I am going to have to replace it with something else (perhaps a metal tube from another sprayer).Decent sprayer for the money but I would recommend something with a metal tube that won't warp.

Excellent sprayer, but.....
By J. Keil
This is an excellent sprayer, but spend the extra $20 for the 61900, it's well worth it. I own both the 61800 and the 61900 and wish I had just bought two 61900's. The 61900 is almost identical except for several improved features, such as a much more comfortable belt and shoulder strap assembly, a better spray wand, a pressure gauge, much more easily accessible filter, etc, well worth the extra $20. The 61800's straps leave my shoulders sore after a full tank of spraying, while the 61900 doesn't.

Quality sprayer with excellent customer support
By jerwig
I've only had my Chapin Model 68150 sprayer a few days and today was the first time I actually used it. We have a couple small dwarf sweet cherry trees that get severly attacked by Japanese bettles every spring. I've been using a Mantis Spray Mate sprayer which is a sprayer on wheels, batter powered and very powerful, to spray the trees. This spring my Mantis sprayer, which is over 10 years old, died just as the beetles started their attack. I did not have time to order a replacement ONLINE, and did not want to spend the $500-$600 for a replacement sprayer like my Mantis. I ended up buying this sprayer at Lowes for $69.99. It is sold under the "Spectracide" brand at Lowes, but the owners manual identifies it as a Chapin model 68150 4 gallon sprayer. The sprayer allows 4 pressure settings (15,30,45,60 PSI). It also comes with 3 nozzles to allow different spray patterns. I found that the brass nozzle that comes installed on the sprayer puts out a very fine mist cone pattern. For weed control this would be good, but for spraying trees, I changed to one of the other supplied nozzles that would allow more of a stream pattern. The sprayer is very good at holding pressure. Once pumped up to 45 PSI, it would completely spray one of my trees so the leaves were dripping from top to bottom, just like my old Mantis sprayer did, only this sprayer only cost $69.99 at Lowes. I don't expect to see any more Beetles on those trees until after the next rain washes away the poison. Then I'll spray them again. Note that I had a problem changing the nozzle (the instructions are not real detailed) and had to call customer service. The person I spoke with was very knowledgeable and helpful. The sprayer had no leaks on this first use. I'll update this review in the future as far as long term durability goes. However, my initial experience with this sprayer is very positive, both for the unit itself and customer support.
